Hi! I’m Steven, and almost two years ago I started working as a Lifestyle Manager here at The Fixer. I’m originally from Glasgow, Scotland, and though I always dreamed of becoming a pilot as a kid, I eventually realised I probably couldn’t handle the pressure of having all those lives in my hands. So, I followed my other passion - travel - and studied Travel and Tourism in college, which opened the door to the world of hospitality.

Before joining The Fixer, I was working for Gordon Ramsay’s group. I loved the structure of that environment, but after a while I started looking for something that better matched my skill set and interests. That is when Amanda texted me about a potential future role at The Fixer. I already knew a bit about the company and it sounded like exactly the challenge I had been looking for - something more creative, more varied, and with a touch of adventure. The timing just felt right.

When I started, my main responsibility was handling hospitality ticket requests - concerts, matches. But from the very beginning, I got involved in a bit of everything. As time went on, I began planning full travel itineraries and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. One of the major projects I took on was organising a trip to Antarctica for a client, for example. Since then, with the support of the rest of the team of course, I’ve planned everything from laid-back getaways to unforgettable events in some of the most remote and extraordinary corners of the world.

Before The Fixer, I had some international experience, having lived abroad and worked with clients from different backgrounds. But nothing compares to the depth of global knowledge we build here. Our team is made up of people from all over - meaning that we are constantly learning from each other, and that we can give our clients truly local insights no matter where they’re headed. And it’s not just talk - FAM trips are genuinely part of the culture here. I’ve been lucky enough to go on a few, and what really stands out is how much people care when you get back. The team is always curious and excited to hear what you saw, what you learned, what went well, and what could be better. There is a real sense that every experience counts and that any type of feedback helps us all improve and grow. You feel like your opinion really does matter.

Transitioning from a more casual hospitality background into the luxury lifestyle industry definitely came with a learning curve. The level of detail, the expectations - it’s all more elevated. But that is also what makes it exciting! I’ve learned that the tiniest details can completely transform an experience and make the entire difference in everything I do. That awareness, that care.. is something I’ve really grown into during my time here. What I love most about working at The Fixer is that no two days are ever the same. One moment I am securing front-row seats for a fashion show, the next I’m mapping out a two-week adventure through Patagonia for example! There is a real dynamic energy in the company. You never quite know what each day will bring, and that keeps things interesting. A key aspect of what makes this place so special is definitely the team. It’s a mix of different cultures, backgrounds, and personalities, and everyone brings something valuable to the table. That diversity not only makes the day-to-day more fun, but also helps us deliver more thoughtful, creative experiences for our clients.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to see where The Fixer goes next. I think there’s huge potential - not just in terms of how we adapt to the market and use technology to improve what we do, but also in how the team itself continues to grow. Outside of work, I’ve somehow become the team’s unofficial ‘IT manager’ - if something’s not working, chances are someone’s messaging me about it. It’s a bit of a running joke at this point, but I actually enjoy helping out. I’ve always felt comfortable with tech, and it’s nice to know I can make things a bit easier for the team when things go sideways. I’m proud to be part of this journey, and I can’t wait to see how we will all evolve as a team and company altogether - both professionally for our clients and for all of us on a personal level.
