Hey there! I’m Chase, I was born and raised in Florida, but I’ve lived in a few different places along the way. I officially joined The Fixer in February this year, after starting as an intern about six months before that.

After finishing high school in 2020, I moved to Norway for what was supposed to be a gap year, and it ended up being a turning point. It was probably the first time I realised I actually enjoyed putting myself in completely new environments and figuring things out as I went. From there, I moved to Switzerland to study Hospitality Management. I was looking for something practical, something I could apply in real life, without being boxed into one specific path. What I didn’t expect was how many doors it would open. Hospitality is way broader than people think. Yes, it’s about service, but that’s just the surface. At its core, it’s about people. I’ve started to see hospitality as something that’s everywhere. Every time you grab a coffee, that interaction is hospitality. Even going to the doctor - how you’re welcomed, how you’re treated - that’s hospitality too. It’s less about the setting and more about how someone makes you feel.

Before joining The Fixer, I completed two very different internships. The first was at a Michelin-starred restaurant in a small town in France. Most of the guests were local, and I didn’t speak the language, so there were definitely some awkward moments, but it forced me to adapt quickly and deal with situations head-on. Looking back, it’s one of those experiences I learned the most from. My second internship was with an international events company, which was a completely different pace. It was fast, intense, and required a lot of energy. I had the chance to travel quite a bit during that time to places like Greece, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Dubai. Being exposed to so many different environments helped me become more comfortable working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

When deciding what to do next, I had a few options. But The Fixer stood out because it didn’t feel like just another short-term role. It felt like a place where I could actually grow and build something over time, and that made the decision pretty easy.

When I first joined, I was mainly focused on research to plan clients’ trips, sourcing suppliers, and updating restaurant and experiences recommendations. It gave me a solid foundation and helped me understand how much detail goes into everything we do. One of the moments that really stood out for me was being trusted to carry out site inspections at prestigious hotels. It was a big responsibility at that stage, and definitely a bit nerve-wracking at first. But it also made me realise the level of trust the team places in me, and it’s something I’m genuinely proud of.

Since then, my role has evolved (and it’s still evolving). I’m now more involved with our partners, handling operational and administrative work to make sure everything runs smoothly. I’ve also become the main point of contact for many of our suppliers, which is something I didn’t expect so early on, but something I’ve really enjoyed. At the same time, I’ve started moving more into the Lifestyle Management side of the business, learning how to handle ticket requests, support multiple client needs at once, and assist in building detailed itineraries, giving me a much clearer understanding of how everything connects.

One of the biggest challenges has been stepping into situations where I don’t always have all the answers yet. Leading meetings or being asked very specific questions can definitely throw you off at first. But I’ve realised that’s part of the process - you get better by doing it, not by waiting until you feel fully ready.

The team has made a big difference with that. Even though we’re all based in different places, it never feels like you’re on your own. Everyone is open to helping, and there’s no pressure to pretend you know everything. It’s a supportive environment, and having people from different countries brings a range of perspectives that makes the work even more interesting.

Overall, what I like most is that I’m not stuck doing just one thing. I’ve been able to see different departments, and the exciting part is that I still feel like I’m just getting started. There’s a lot more I want to learn, especially as I am taking on more responsibilities and moving deeper into Lifestyle Management. To me, going from intern to full-time has already been a big step, and I’m excited to see where it goes next.
