Hi! I’m Amy, Londoner at heart, and like many of us, my path to The Fixer hasn’t been a straight line, but it’s been full of brilliant detours that brought me exactly where I am meant to be.

I began my career in marketing and PR before moving into the fashion world, where I had one of those wonderfully unpredictable roles. I was part PA, part travel coordinator, scouting shoot locations or sorting complex itineraries for directors and their families, for instance. It was fast-paced, high pressure, and I thrived on it.

Then came a ‘pause’ - or rather how I like to call it - a full-time role with the toughest brief of all: being a mother. I took a career break, and while the professional and technological world went on evolving, so did I - just in a different way. When I was ready to return, I knew I wanted something that matched my experience, but also gave me the flexibility to be present for both my work and my family.

That’s when I found The Fixer. I’d applied for two roles at the time, both in travel, but frankly this one just felt instinctively more me. When I read the description for this role, it felt like a perfect match. It was everything I had done before, so the nature of the work felt instantly familiar, but with a fresh, more creative twist. I was still creating experiences, but this time to fascinating clients all over the world. And this is still the part that excites me the most, even after three years of working at The Fixer.

One of the best parts of the job is the opportunity to travel, to see places firsthand, meet our partners on the ground, and really understand the feeling of a destination beyond just pictures. Those experiences are invaluable, and they are what allow us to bring a real sense of authenticity and detail to our work. At the same time, I also travel the world daily from my desk! Diving into research, following new openings, and building out itineraries with the same level of care and curiosity. That blend of real-world experience and deep, thoughtful planning is what makes what we do feel so special.

And for me, there’s nothing better than using that expert knowledge to create something memorable for a client. Especially because no two days are ever the same - surely the rest of the team can relate to this. It’s exciting how on the same day we may be crafting such different journeys, and even booking the same destination (or experience) twice feels completely different depending on who it is for. Everyone has their own pace, preferences, quirks, and it’s our job to notice those to turn them into something seamless and so special.

Honestly, the biggest challenge getting back to work for me was not the clients or the pace, but it was catching up with the tech that had such a rapid development in the meanwhile. But the team at The Fixer has always been very supportive. We lean on each other, share knowledge, swap tips and recommendations whenever others need it. The fact that we all come from different backgrounds, cultures, and industries - and yet somehow it all clicks. We don’t compete, we complement. And that’s what I think makes our team so strong.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned, and something I’m constantly reminding myself (might sound like a cliché, but it’s true) is that the key is in the detail. People sometimes joke that I sweat the small stuff, but I have learned the hard way that it is always worth it. Even the tiniest piece of information can make all the difference. You might think something’s not worth noting down or double-checking… and then it comes back to bite you. So I always ensure to make it a point to catch every detail - not just to deliver the best possible service, but to safeguard the whole process. It has become second nature to me, and honestly, it’s what makes the work feel so polished and personal!

It feels like we are still at the beginning of something, with so much potential ahead. The Fixer is evolving quickly, and with every new client or project, there is a sense of momentum and possibility. It is exciting to be part of a team that is constantly growing and adapting.
